Excuse the heading, but I'm very pleased to boast that a set of OZ wheels are currently on their way to my house. I've already organised a mate to help swap over the old Brembos.
Now the big decision is this - do I powder-coat them black to match the bike, or do I leave them in their original blue?
(And what the hell do I do with the old rims? I have no need (or space!) to keep them.)

Lovely. If my bike was black I would have left the wheels Oz blue. But it's bronze so I had them coated graphite to match the frame. Kind of wished I'd gone for gloss black though.

Blue Oz look cool with a black Falco. Well I like mine.

Got to admit I do t like them as a pretty thing so I would paint them but then I don't have any which may explain my attitude :)

As Keith (HisNibbs) and Dave have commented already, a
Black Falco looks great with blue Oz wheels.
(especially with the original blue trimmings).
Here's mine -
As Pete says, if you can't keep em, sell on eBay.
BUT - Try to keep them if you can, as you will get little for them if sold with the bike, (especially to a dealer), and they always sell well separately, if you put the bike back to standard.

Thanks for the comments, folks. Only issue is that the bird is not all black, she's the Hot Red / Diablo Black colour scheme (complete with 'Zorro' pattern on the fairing.)
Even though I've found two powder coating companies within spitting distance of home, I'm falling into a "replace the bearings and get the sodding things on the bike" state of mind.
And thanks for the pointers about selling the old rims as a pair. Saves me having the unwanted one kicking around forever.

UNLESS you are abso bloody lutely certain that you are never going to sell the falcon - keep the wheels....

The Falco is definitely a "keep this bike forever" sort of bike.
I have no intention of selling her.

Grats mate. Just wish I'd held out as I was after a front wheel and got a set from a bloke in Newcastle recently.
I'd leave them blue (unless they are in poor shape) and see how they look for a while. If they're still bugging you by the next time you need rubber then you'll know you need to change.

Thanks. Damn, that's bad timing. Hell, I would have even delivered them to you. (Or at least seriously considered it!)

From the photos, they look in good condition. I like your idea - good thinking!

Stating the obvious I know but iffy had been all black then you would need to keep them a nice bright colour to take the eye away from such a dull colour ;)
