Could this be caused by the fluid leaking past the filler cap head, I have looked everywhere and it seems to be coming down over and collecting here. cannot see any other possibilities.

The sight tube is below and to the right it is not from there as it is coming down as I said, I am trying to nail it down because a new cap costs £23 I will get it if I could be sure it would cure it.

Dont spend the money on a new cap, I confess to cross theading mine resulting in a dribble down the header tank.
Check all your hose connections in the vicinity of the leak, hoses do split underneath the clamp, may not be noticable when cold and under low pressure, if you have a split in any hose it will leak more when warm and when you are on the move any coolant will be blown back onto the clutch housing.
a right pain but remove the hose clamps and see what you cant see

Check the 'T' shaped pipe joiner that runs between the two cylinders. Mine developed a leak and had to be replaced. Also check the state of the hoses that join to it - they can get brittle as they get old.
