I've had a great weekend out and about on the bike but I've discovered a few problems. So a few questions.
1 I've lost a bar end somewhere. Don't know how don't know where but it's gone. Quite annoyed about it but anyway anybody know where I can get a replacement oem bar end? I've searched ebay and can only find them across the pond. I can't seem to find one over here.
2 While cleaning her I managed to break the plastic lens cover off one of the indicators. They're aftermarket so I don't think I'll have any luck finding a suitable replacement so I may as well just replace the pair. Was thinking about LED units. Will I have to fit a resistor? Or can I get a set that are plug and play? Or does anybody have any recommendations for something a little bit trick?
3. My gear change peg has become loose. (Not the foot peg, that's solid) It shifts gears fine but the peg has a little bit of lateral movement in it as if something has broken. Anyway I've been looking at the rear sets sold by aprilia performance. Has anybody else fitted them? Are they worth the £265 asking price?
4) When I bought my Falco the rear seat cowl was missing. I bought one second hand but it's silver. Anybody got any recommendations of somewhere decent that can colour match it to my bike and paint it. Ideally in the west mids.
Thanks all,
SN

Well I've found a Mille bar end. I assume they are the same?

they are
and R&G make replacement parts
re indicators.... look in the falco and technical section - simple answer is yes....
re the rear sets - i have them fitted - i like them - worth the cash... to me yes, BUT - i would just disassemble your existing gear lever and give it a bloody good clean
re the colour change - squid has some crayons.....

I've just fitted LED indys front and back, I put a resistor on each individual unit as per the technical section guide.
However, I did try with the "stock" resistor pack that comes with the aftermarket kits but only one pack per side, on the basis that it's for a 23W replacement, and I'm replacing 2x 10W. The flash rate was acceptable, but I'd already made up the sets with the other resistors so only had one 23W one left to test (so couldn't do it for both sides).
Easiest way I found was to remove the resistor from the aftermarket set and replace with the correct size one, using up the wiring that comes in the kit rather than making up new bullet connects etc.

I'm in the process of moving over to LED indicators (finally giving in to the years of pressure from Pete to ditch the standard indies).
I'm going for a resistor-free solution which requires a different type of flasher unit that doesn't control flash-rate according to current-draw.
BTW when fitting LED indies, don't forget you need to do the diode mod to stop both sides flashing together (due to the way the filament bulb of the repeater in the instrument pack is wired).

Would you touch them given the places that they may have been ?
You might do better with these:

They also do a rattle can version

My local bike shop uses these chaps for repairs and touch ups.

They did my ex-gaffers daughter's ER6 after she dropped it while stationary and scuffed it up. It looked good, don't know what they charged him but they quoted me 40 quid to do a Falco seat hump, which was about a hundred quid less than Dream Machine. Blinkey spotted one the right colour for less though so I bought that instead. This was a couple of years ago.
I've got the rearsets and I rate them but like Alad said give your bits a clean, lube and tighten first.

Thanks guys. I'l give my rear sets a clean up and see if they can be repaired but tbh I was already looking at them before I noticed the wobble as I like the idea of having them adjustable.

No diode mod for me, and they work just fine

I had a thought - (yes I know, you're all bloody hilarious) - if you mean the bit that you push up and down with your toes then it's tightenupable. Can't remember if it screws in or bolts through from the back.

I thought it might but I didn't notice until I was putting her away late Sunday night and it was going dark. I'm working up in North Yorkshire this week so once I'm back I'll take it off clean it grease it and tighten anything that can be.

Interesting. Tbh I might order a cheap set from eBay and just see how I get on.

OK so. Bar end is in the post and I should have it tomorrow
Sorted the painting of the rear cowl. A friend of a friend is doing it for FREE

I've just had to supply the paint. I thougt it was black crow but when I went to buy a tin the guy in spray well (dudley) colour matched it to Nero Shadow. So that's what I've bought. Hopefully he's right but I won't know until a week Saturday when I pick it up.
I've taken apart my rearset, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled. However the slack is still there. The ring of the gear shifter is about 1mm bigger than the pin of the foot peg that sits inside it so I'm guessing that's where the play is coming from. Maybe it's normal. However I now want those AP rear sets so I'm thinking of selling my go pro to pay for them.
Indicators I haven't done anything about yet.

Got the seat cowl back from the painters today. It's spot on. Real good finish. I'm not one for handing out praise and normally in very critical of this sort of thing but I can't fault it. Pics don't do it justice as there's too much reflection.
If anybody needed anything painting in the west mids I'd happily recommend simply alfas in Lye. A friend owns the garage and did it for free and sometimes this can lead to a rushed job but I really am impressed with it.

Also have fitted the bar end. Although the RSV end isn't the same as the Falco. It's a shorter length by about 8mm and I had to bore the central hole out from 7mm to 9mm. My Falco ends are gloss the RSV end came in satin. Although that could be because somebody has painted bar ends.
