Side stand

Yes I know the search function exists and I have had a look through, but couldn't really get to the bottom of whether an alternative side stand will bolt straight on or would I still need the Falco bracket?
I need a new side stand, and have been looking at various options but could do with one that bolts straight on, on it's original bracket as my Falco bracket is fubarred.

All the alternative stands use the Falco bracket, as far as I'm aware. Certainly the Fireblade, Blackbird and GSXR stands all use the Falco bracket and side stand warning switch and wiring. I think the Firestorm stand does as well, but have no personal experience of this.

Ok, so does anyone have a spare side stand, or bracket, they don't need? None on ebay at the moment, and I can then get a stand to put on it.

Don't tell me, the gorillas work on IoM ferries too?

I picked up a Firestorm stand last week to replace my snapped OE stand. It works with the Aprilia bracket and the same switch.
I didn't like how far it projected forward though. It's cast iron and can support the lifting of the back wheel but the sole plate wasn't flat on the ground so I reckon it's hitting the stop further round or the bracket is slightly rotated on a Firestorm.
I needed a small 5mm bit of metal inbetween the bracket and stop... about the depth of a 6mm spanner... so I've cable-tied a 6mm spanner to the stand and now the sole plate is flat on the floor.

You could always get a welder to stick a blob of weld at the right place on the front face to stop the stand rotating so far round.

Ive got a Busa stand on mine, fitted by Griff AP, the footplate does not sit flat on the floor, the stand rotates way forward, looks wrong but its abso bloody lutely better than the stock item but the lean angle is good and its solid

Nah, it was before we went on the ferry coming back. The guys on the ferry were actually quite accommodating when I rocked up and told them.

This is what I did after fitting the Firestorm stand and found the leg sat too far forward.
5 min job at your friendly neighbourhood welders.
