Boiled!

So I was trying to bed my pads and discs in using the multiple emergency stop method (as documented in the stoptech article).. Squealing the front tyre is fun :)
Just accelerated for stop number 8 and the lever just came back to the bar.. some frantic pumping and the brakes come back. It's a good job I was in the middle of nowhere..
That fluid will be a little old then... I'm glad it wasn't a track day!

I think the method suggest 3 increasingly severe stops ..... not 8 !
Probably a good plan to change fluid ..... but not on a day when it's pissing down like today!

It says 10.. then a cooling off period and then 10 more !

Must be revised - I'm pretty sure the article I read said 3 and that's what I've always done.

Im looking at the instructions on my Gold Fren pads.... several low speed stops allowing a pad surface contact area of 80/90%
Then several high speed stops allowing the pads to cool while riding.
How many is several ???

Probably less than lots
According to discworld books -
One, two, many, many many, lots. No several that I can remember.
I've never done bedding pads in. Just ride around for a bit until the brakes start to work.

I think the general idea is to bed a smooth pad into a worn disc without glazing either,
So its back to what we all use all of the time, a bit of feel, bit of know how, bit of sense...
and a lot of throttle
