My gear lever's floppier than (insert simile here).

Has you ever knocked out the bush and replaced it? I suppose it might be a standard size - any references for what they are so I can order one in?

Otherwise it's a special order!

It's not listed separately, just as part of the gear lever (which is an eye-watering £73.17 list price...)

You could always try getting the bush built up with weld and then machined down to the correct diameter. But there is always the possibility that the lever will distort from the heat.

Alternatively press the old bush out and get a new one machined up and pressed in. But I doubt either approach will be simple or cheap.

It's a ball bearing. If you find a replacement bearing catalog number I'd like to know it too.

It's a bronze(?) bush.

I just so happen to be at my Dad's for a few days - maybe I can persuade him to power up his lathe and make one up. I'll post the dimensions if I do.

Dads with lathes are worth their weight in bronze, methinks... :smt001
