Engine Switch!

#1 Post by KitchenSync » Tue Apr 29, 2014 9:44 pm

Following a week blasting around France I'm up to 52k miles and pissing more oil than ever so it's now time to get other engine in the Falco. Especially now I've got four weeks until I have to move and will lose the garage. As it's my only transport I need to get everything in prior to committing. So... with a modest set of tools... is there anything I'm going to need to complete this solo?

The garage doesn't have beams so I can't hoist the bike up - but I can get some muscle in should I need it.

I'm hoping that with a couple of scissor jacks and appropriate bar running through the swinging arm spindle I can support the bike (also with paddock stand) and using a capable hoist around the frame spars lower the engine to the deck. I don't want to get a a hydraulic jack as I'm traveling very light these days and will only end up having to ditch it.

Any flaws in my plans/advice?

I see no flaws as long as you have friends to help. I have an early mille engine for sale in good working order for sale btw? 250 quid buys it :smt002
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Can't you just buy a new switch?
