Rear suspension bolt help: has it sheared off ?!?!? .....

Whilst twiddling with my suspension, I noticed the rear suspension bolt that holds the bottom arm to the mounting point on the rear of the engine just 'didn't look right'.

Heres some pics, the best I can do from a mobile. These are taken from the RHS/offside of the bike.

Looks like there may be something missing, due to the silver circle that seems quite clean? Also theres no bolt with a nut on it slicking out of the mounting point on the engine.

Is this bolt recessed or threaded into the mount point and should be like this or am I in trouble.

Have searched internet and this forum for answer and images but can find nothing, and don't have another Falco to compare to. I'm not that familiar with this bike yet to know, but it just looked 'wrong'....

Can someone maybe have a look at their bike and let me know if its the same please? Wont be riding it until I know!

I presume it is part NO. 9 that's causing me concern: listed as a "Hex socket screw m10x74"...... ??

I'll have to look, I'm ashamed to admit after only overhauling my dog bones last year.

Old age is a terrible thang.

I hope its just the side with the Allen head of the bolt recessed into the frame casting (so the nut should be on the other side) but will check.

I had one of those come undone once which led to the rear suspension collapsing. Bent the triangles - was a bit of a mess.

Don't recommend it - hate to think what would have happened if it had happened at speed

Cheers, Iconic, just need some kind soul to have a look at theirs for me to compare.

So the allen bolt is recessed then...? ... will check the other end of the bolt on mine too in the meantime...

But now I've looked at it, yours must be ok.

The 'head' is simply tubular and recessed in the frame casting - it has a BIG (14mm?) Allen head that is awkward to access.

You might need to 'Use the Force' ;-)
