Hi all,

OK men, I have bought some 3mm neoprene material and am getting a template made to create a cover for the D+B on our stead. This will probably incorporate the bottom of the shock as well.

The idea came to mind when my bearing were shot and was sick of cleaning them. Have seen the sock that K+N do to cover the spring. It will have a velcro fastening on the top section, with some holes on bottom to allow for any deluge that may occur.

Need to sweet-talk my local clothing repair sewerer now

Nice idea, please post photos etc when done. Hopefully it won't get trapped anywhere..

Nooj does the R&G shock tube I believe.

Though stopping road crud getting onto the bottom of the shock is a good idea. Be interesting to see how it turns out.

When I replaced the shock I noticed that the dogbone had a few mils side to side movement on the steel tube spacers which the mounting bolts go through.
My mate tuned me up a few nylon washers to stop the sideways movement and more importantly stop the ingress of crap.I took the shock off again recently after 18 months or so and the bearings were still clean.
Can't see any reason for the side clearance.
Mine was sufficient for the dogbone to rub on the triangle causing an arc shaped wear pattern.

But I did think it was rhyming slang for 'phone'
