When you say "smoked", do you mean "coated with a liberal application of bitumous paint?"
From the info I've seen, they should not cause you a problem unless they reduce light output by 50% or more.
There again, the info I saw might be wrong.

Tis a great feeling, 12 months of fun. My kindly MOT guy passed the bike on Friday, 1 advisory for "exhaust noisy", cheek, with fuel cans and baffles out should have at least been "exhaust VERY noisy" lol

. Enjoy.

I had a special MOT on mine, seeing as I had loaded it in the van before I remembered I hadn't been given the bit of paper for the MOT.
Mind you they had just serviced it so there would have been nothing to fail it on, not even my unbaffled exhaust

My Falco flew through. The kwak failed on the drive chain. Fair enough, I should have checked it properly rather than just adjusting it and lubing it. In my defence I'd had enough of the thing after stripping and rebuilding the front and piddling about with the electrics.

Roads are still iffy, gravel and salt accumulations in lots of places. Damp patches and slime abound. It's tempting I know but don't get carried away...

Round this way, they are the best I've known them at this time of year. The overwhelming majority of salt/slime etc got washed away soon after it was put down due to the "great deluge" that beset us all.
That said, this is only a relative thing and they are far from being top-quality racetrack surfaces ........ so I'd echo the "don't get carried away"

They're good down this way as well had an excellent ride on Suunday, and I can confirm Andy's observations as my trip to Hinckley was good, especially when cutting across to the east of Coventry through Southam from Banbury
Bloody Tollbar island was a nightmare though, glad I was on the bike.

East side of Coventry - that's where I live. You should have dropped in for a cuppa.
Quite a nice run up Oxford, Banbury, Southam (avoiding the M40)

Yeah - my son has to negotiate Tollbar Island twice a day on his commute. The roadworks are scheduled to last several years
