Falco For Sale - Advice needed!
Posted: Sun Mar 02, 2014 8:56 pm
Due to lack of use and a desire to sort a proper storage place before thinking about another bike my beloved Falco is for sale.
V-plate, registered 2000
Fire red
24,000 miles
3 owners
FSH
MOT and tax Sept 2014
Sargent seat (cost £219 - don't have original so can't sell on I'm afraid)
Art carbon cans (plus originals)
Scott oiler
Mille white spring rear shock (plus original blue spring unit)
Aprilia soft panniers and frames
Rear seat and original colour matched cowl
Dropped gearing (+3 rear, possibly -1 front - haven't checked!)
New Motobatt AGM battery
Datatool S4 alarm
HID 35W dipped beam plus the main beam wiring mod
Fairly recent fork re-build at Peak Performance SW
A few tasteful aesthetic changes
All consumables in good nick
All paperwork, receipts, keys, fobs etc.
Garaged for all bar the last 6 months so pretty clean, but will deterioriate needlessly if I keep it hence part of the reason for sale.
Bad points: -
Original side stand - I've lived with it 6 years but some really despise it!
Front mudguard had to be replaced when a load of the bolts seized and the original was damaged when sorting it out. Plain gloss black item on the bike.
Not serviced in 2 years, SORN'd in a garage for 18 months of that period, low mileage since the last service (~500 miles I think) but due the valve clearance check so expect £400-500 advisable before any further serious mileage.
So, what would it be worth? I expect to be without a bike for about 2 years so not interested in trade or p/x, is it worth me paying for the major service to offer total peace of mind to a prospective buyer or financially better to just take the hit of a low price to shift it?
Any reason to consider making it nearer to stock and selling on the extras?
I'm in Exeter, happy to travel upto 50 miles to meet genuine buyers or further at minor cost if needed.
Glad to hear the collective wisdom of this excellent forum!
