Side Stand issues.
Hi hi people, so I am trying to source a side stand for my new toy! Now I know that the 2004- 2007 fireblade stands fit it but finding one of those is actually a bit of a bitch!
So what I was hoping was that seeming as everyone who has been giving me some advice on what I should do, say the first thing I need to change is the side stand. Now there is a few "stickys" on the Falco pages on different things but none on the sidestand. I know there is different posts about the issue but wouldn't it be a good idea to sitcky a post with all the info on which side stands work and which need work/which don't and all that jazz.
Also whoever makes the topic can edit the first post by adding all the info that others give?
Hope I am actually making sense......it's been a long weekend.
Finally.......... Anyone have a sidestand for me please? :p

I'm told mine has one from a GSXR and I seem to remember hearing that a Blackbird one fits as well?

Ok taz
Obviously the 14th tribe of Judea got lost in Eire
The blade stand is only about 55 quid new from a stealer
Go for a 2005/6 model year iirc
(There are some plans in place for centralising these kind of resources, but apparently some one has got lost working in mordor and has not sorted the domain.....)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Is this what I need? No. 3?Aladinsaneuk wrote:stealer = dealer
a bike shop with a big fuck off honda sign outside may well be a good place to start....

It only takes the once. I have modified the standard stand to make it adjustable for length to accommodate the ride height adjustment of the Ohlins. So for seven years I thought I was reasonably sorted however one day I decided to park in a slightly different place on my gravel drive and whilst opening the garage doors I heard a crunch from behind me... I have RG crash bungs but they also just bury themselves in the gravel. Man that bike is a bastard to pick up and I marked the carbon fiber of my irreplaceable Aprillia racing cans in the process.mrapriliafalco wrote:If your careful I cannot understand the Issue. I'm on my 3rd Falco and ive not had one fall from grace
Thanks to Alad I now have gixer stand and it is so much more stable than my optimized standard stand could ever imagine.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today
