Ran fine yesterday,seems the Mysterons have visited overnight.
Fat blue spark from all plugs,gap is fine.
Injector wiring tested,nice steady pulse.
Air filter is spotless.
No obvious vac pipes off,same with wiring connectors.
No fuses blown.
Turns over fine,wont start just floods, wont play with the no fast idle just half throttle trick
Any ideas welcome

Alarm issue?

Bridge come off on left side near relays (that was my problem!)

No alarm fitted, the fuel supply side is ok, plugs are fairly new so should work under load
I even heated rear plugs on gas cooker !

What else is there to check..

Tilt switch (unlikely)

Sidestand switch

Front inlet sensor

What chip are you using?

The tilt switch is disabled, the sliding contact has been fixed so it cant move.
The stand switch will only kill the engine if you engage gear with stand down.
As for the fuel chip, no idea as a casing screw on the ECU is fooked so cant get in to have a nose.
A read of the manual seems to point the finger at the fuel pressure regulator,there is no test to see if its working or not,the rest of the sensors can be tested but rain stopped play.
Oh well bus to work tomorrow, hate using public transport

Look nothing has changed from when it was running.I take it things were fine when you last switched it off and they don't suddenly packup when the bike is standing there doing nothing over night.
So it's a flooding problem only......Full cold start,2 whacks of full throttle and hit the button.
If it still fails then a good kicking will often relieve your frustration.

I'm with Millsy on this - FULL throttle when cranking (none of this half-throttle stuff) if it's flooded (though by tomorrow it might start anyway)

Fast idle lever position won't matter - it only affects the throttle closed position - absolutely nothing else.

If the screw on the ecu is chewed that would tell me someone has replaced the chip, I mean why else would any body go in there.
Kwakerz mille was over fuelling due to the incorrect chip.
When I replace the sprag it would start with no fast idle which tells me its over fuelling + the smell.
I replaced the aftermarket with the standard chip and it starts every time.
You need to get that screw out

I got home early today and was about to test the inlet sensor for voltage/resistance, I thought I may as well plug the ECU diagnostic leads in to see if there are any fault codes showing........

Ive got a spare ECU to try but the bike is my only transport at the mo so wont push my luck with it,hope the car passes MOT at end of month,waiting for payday again

Uniform grey is good, dirty black is rich

Sounds like the classic flooding issue. Has happened to me a couple of times and the wide open throttle trick worked both times. Connecting the diag wires has nothing to do with it - purely coincidence

What I should have said was I dont think the fuel chip is over fuelling because of the plug colour !
Started up fine today to and from work so its either the fuel pressure regulator playing up or just another 'Italian' moment !
