Morning, know this has been done before, ununsual one this morning. Alarm fob WILL allow me to put the bike in mode to move out of garage but WONT let me disarm to start. So I can push the oval button to engage move mode, but the round button has no effect. Alarm beeps in the correct sequence UNTIL I want to disarm to start then no beeps. Have not tried switching on the ignition in case I cant cancel the alarm. Tried spare fob, same results.

Any ideas?, thanks.

I have the same alarm on my ZX9R (but not on the Falco), but never seen this before.
Sometimes goes into a sort of "deep" sleep mode and won't react at all to buttons, so I switch the ignition on, alarm goes off and then de- activates OK and all is back to normal,
The only other idea from me is weak batteries in both fobs.
The above should allow the fob to de-activate as long as the battery is not too weak.

Even if the alarm sounds, they generally only sound for about 30s.

I've got a S4, there's a "pin" code which you can enter to disarm, after turning the ignition on and sounding the alarm. Might be worth trying if you don't get anywhere with the fobs (assuming this exists on the S3)

Thanks for the quick replies. The S3 does have the pin code function, will be trying that after trying new batteries, etc. Was thinking along the lines of sleep mode so will probably set off the alarm with ignition, let it run for 30s ( makes up for neighbours noisy kids each night) and go from there. cheers.

Thinking on, when the bike's battery voltage starts to drop, there's an initial low-voltage mode, which only allows disarm on the flash of the led (about every ten seconds). try just holding down the disarm button while the led on the bike flashes, have had this on mine when the battery was starting to fail. Then comes the deep-sleep mode suggested by Howard, which IIRC can only be recovered from by setting off the alarm.

a lot of alarms can need to relearn their own codes certainly on cars (usually sit in the car turn the ignition and lock unlock the doors whilst wearing a german soldier outfit
mybe something similar 'd just rip the fekker out whilst wearing earplugs that'll disarm it

Well well, tried again after work last night and.......bike disarms on the original fob, hazard lights can be initiated and movement detection can be selected! All good with the world after much planning during work time. Turns out the spare fob batteries are low, reason it would not work yesterday, realised after FULLY reading the instructions and getting 3 bleeps when trying to use the spare fob. Can only think i maybe dropped the key/fob recently and in changing the batteries have somehow "fixed" my spurious problem. Many thanks for the input again and YES I am thinking of junking the alarm.

Alarms/immobilisers are only effective against someone who doesnt know how they work !
