No start after lending it to a friend

Hi,

Weird problem:

lent my bike to a friend today. Got a call this evening, it wouldn't start.
Here's what's happened: he rode it all day, without problems. Stopped at another friends house, turned of the bike to have a talk, 2 mins later, it doesn't start up anymore.

Went to do some investigations: on contact on, fuel pump doesn't prime. Taking out the fuse and reinserting it causes it to prime. (weird)

Fuel pump doesn't get 12V during cranking.

Both these things seem to point to the computer don't they? Fitted a gabro chip. Original one was hot glued in place, didn't bother now. Perhaps the IC has a bad connection?

Does it have an alarm?

nope. Perhaps tip-over?

Find it weird that it doesn't prime on contact-on, but then does prime when reinserting the fuse.

Fuel pump relay?

try swapping it with one of the others under the tail.

Also there have been issues with the fuel pump wiring where it goes into the tank through a plug of potting compound, they have been known to break connection and cause intermittent problems. try wiggling the wires.

You say that the fuel pump doesn't get 12v on cranking, where did you measure this?

Measured it at the connector near the battery. Blue is ground, green is to pump.

Connection definitely good, as i resoldered and repotted it ;)

Will know more when my mates bring back my bike by trailer today.
