Above the battery, inline fuse holder, twin wires go under pillion seat then under subframe back to main loom.
Im asking because Noticed a broken connection under pillion but everything still worked
Yesterday I noticed the pos side of the inline fusewas broken all but 1 strand, again everything worked :smt017

Wire colour?

I'm thinking it's the diagnostics connector.

deffo be worth taping up any bare wires so they can't earth out.

Here's a pic of a Mille diagnostic connector, wire colour should be the same on the Falco.

Really should tell the whole story.

The diagnostic connector should be disconnected. You only need it connected to get fault codes if stuff goes wrong.

The most common codes are 0, 1 and -1, which all relate to the Throttle position sensor (TPS). With the fast idle wound right off and the throttle closed 0=spot on, 1 or -1 mean that the TPS is a bit off one way or the other (buggered if I can remember which way). apparently 1 is not as bad as -1, so I'd be guessing that the -1 means the TPS is under reading the opening of the throttle.

Anyhoo, try connecting it and if you get the diagnostics screen in place of the speedo that's the mystery solved.

BTW you can safely run your motor with the diag wires connected, some say you can't and it will bugger up your engine and make the earth explode, but that's all bollox.

Its not the diagnostic plug in !
Black double wire, splits to each side of battery, with inline fuse holder, this then joins twin red wire which joins loom with flat connector ( looks like all the other locking connectors in the loom )
