First proper run out on the falco today.
Still need to sort a few things......but what a bike.
A 15t sprocket is next on the list along with a rear shock.
It does everything though. It will happily bimble about quite civilised but open the tap and it becomes a hooligan.
If carlsberg built bikes. ....it'd be the Falco

16 / 41 is standard.
many of us prefer 15 /41
16 / 43 is very close to 15 / 41 but requires a longer chain.
16 / 42 is half way between stock and the "usual" change

Gearing is way too tall for my liking. Slipping the clutch in third or revving it in 2nd is a little annoying.

What on earth are you doing? If the gearing is too tall I can understand slipping the clutch in first, but third?

Chatters and feels awful pootling around at low speed.
Slipping the clutch helps.

Hmmm how low?
I can run mine in 6th at about 35mph as long as I don't wind the throttle on too quickly (with 15/41 gearing).
Might be that your throttle bodies need balancing,

15-20, most likely need balancing though I'll get them done.

44T on the back of mine has altered the feel o the bike totally, i keep going for a seventh gear, acceleration is now more than 'brisk' and so willin to respond to any throttle demand as well.
Wish i done it ages ago. Might need a longer chain for this mod?

In the meantime, leave the fast idle cable slightly 'engaged' so your tickover speed is around 1500 to 1750 rpm, this will help with the lumpy hesitation.
It is a V twin charecterisic to be 'all or nothing' on low throttle openings.
If you need to slip the cluch in 2 an 3, you need some tuning.
I only slip the clutch to keep the front on the tarmac, yes sometimes from 2nd to 3rd
A falc does have the poke to do that !
