I seem to be having trouble with my throttle, whilst short shifting and despite having the throttle fully closed and the clutch pulled fully in, the revs don't die as they are supposed to and it seems like I am a ham fisted idiot who doesn't know how to change gear ( sometimes it probably is just me ).

Also when approaching a corner sometimes the engine braking doesn't happen at all, which leads to a mad dash for the front brake.

I can't remember if this happened before I fitted the FA eprom, though something in the back of my very empty head tells me it did.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Perhaps someone adjusted your idle thingy on the right side?

Nope, it idles normally, and cuts out if I push that back to the original position when cold. The revs do drop away if I change a lot slower, oops missed that from the original post.

The only person who has touched my bike was Griff at AP when he set up the mixture for the new eprom and air kit.

check the routing of the throttle cables - may have been disturbed with the work you had done

There have been a few cases of the screws on the butterflies coming loose and the throttles not closing completely - worth a check.

I had something similar once ... acn't for the life of me recall what it was though ... so that helps then not

I'll check to see if I made a note but it wasn't anyhting major that i am sure of and it wasn't the cables and it wasn't the butterflies

Right, butterfly screws are properly located and while the cable has been rubbing where it goes through the gap between the frame and tank, it didn't look excessively tight.

Guess 'll look at the vacuum system next then.

Following the suggestion and holding the throttle open then gradually closing it seems to have rectified the problem on a quick ride out this afternoon.

I'm surprised - that's a thread in the Futura forum ..... and they have a completely different engine management system.
That said, it's not inconceivable that they've implemented the same strategy for this.

I know but hey I'll give anything a go, and it seems to have done the trick, though I'll keep an eye on it this week.

I imagine they both use the same ECU and throttle components so it would make sense for it to work the same.
