Brake discs interchangeability

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been done to death but I'm away from home and need to know before I go back to collect my Falco if the brake discs are interchangable between the standard fit wheels and the OZ wheels off the factory RSV's? I may well end up buying some wavey discs but for now just need something to go on so that I can move the bike with it's new wheels on.

I haven't been on this site much, used to spend some time on the AF1 forum but kept coming over here on thread hijacks. My falco has been languishing in a dirty hole in manchester for some time now but I'm coming to get her next week - I have moved to Poland so hopefully she'll make it there in one piece! Watch this space...

Cheers

The discs are actually in very wide use, especially on Italian bikes. A lot of earlier Ducatis (888/916/998 vintage) use them, as do a fair few Yamahas (mainly 1000cc).

So if all those bikes are sharing the same set of disks, each one will only get them for about 3 days per year.

Bet it snows when its our turn.

These discs aren't all the same quality. A lot of the yamaha owners swap to the Aprilia ones as they're less prone to warping (that's where I got the list from)

... and Aprilia fit both Brembo and Sunstar disks - with the Sunstar ones being generally held to be the better ones.

Somebody got the design right there - they've been in use for over 25 years...
