Just fitted some small indies to my Falco, and for some reason they won't flash, they aren't LED ones, but the relay just makes a strange noise and nothing happens on the indies, any ideas how to cure this?.

If they are wired up correctly, try the relay, you may have 10watt lamps in them, in which case you will need the relay

Seem to be wired correctly, got a funny feeling they are 21w lamps

, I guess thats bad, and I would need a relay for this?, any suggestions as to which relay and where from.......

Strange, the Falco originals are 10w AFAIK so the 21w items should cause them to flash faster and stay on shorter.
The way I understand the flasher unit to work is that a bimetallic strip is making the contact when cold and when the current to the bulb heats the strip it bends and breaks contact then cools to make contact again.
Drawing more current for the higher wattage bulb should make the strip heat up quicker, but should still make them flash.
Perhaps the extra current/heat has buggered the flasher unit.

You know I never knew they where 10 watt. In the two years I have owned this bike I have never had to change a bulb ('cept on the taillight

). Not so with the wifes A4 though. Pops taillight bulbs every second bump in the road

A £4.99 2x21W flasher relay from Halfords did the trick

On the subject of indicators, I was giving the bike a full appraisal (ie, drawing up the list of mods!) and first on the list is indicators and tail tidy.
I quite fancy some flush fit ones for the front, has anyone got them? I've done a bit of googling and haven't come up with anything so far :(

Hornetrider - I seem to remember that Tweaker has flush fitting indicators on his beast - I'm sure he'll be along soon top confirm

... and here comes, sauntering in from the tedium of work! Sorry to say, it wasn't me although I have fitted some semi-flush ones to the rear as per the pic. (inserts gratuitous shot of bike)
Falcomunky is your man for truly flush fit as per his pic here:

These look VERY neat and I may try them myself.

Nice one! Looks good!
I was actually thinking of flush fit style on the front tho...? The indicators are in a recess and thought it would be good to mount some smoked ones in there. Your rear ones look just the ticket, where did you get them from?

Cheers HR. They came from the local bike dealers - I think they're Motobitz or Motrax and come in black or faux c/f - I went for the Black as I can't stand fake c/f, the real stuff is neat though. I'm not happy with the fronts on mine so I'm still considering options. Kind of running out of things to do to the bike TBH so I'm kind of tinkering really.

Ooohh Motrax !!!
Make sure you fit them semi permanently so they come off easily when they break ..... in about 2 months
Sorry - not a big fan of Motrax stuff. They seem to have/spot a good idea and then get it made up in the cheapest way possible (allegedly).
Still - they do look good

Can't see how they can go wrong with indicators tho? If they are flush mount all they'll need is screwing to the fairing - they can't muck that up surely?! ...plus both my tax disc holders are Motrax
