Ohlins front
Ohlins front end on falco and ready too pick up
He mentioned that there is little lock on steering I knew there wasn't full range ie no steering lock.
anyone done the same and how much lock is there???
he may be overexaggerating it over the phone
cheers in advance

Absolutely no difference between stock and my Ohlins
Methinks he's talking bollocks
I'm not sure how it's possible to lose lock? Unless there's a steering damper which is a tad too short for the job? For forks I just can't see how steering can possibly be effected, your triples will be the same...
Just to be clear, I'm running standard suspension but I've had forks out bikes countless times. Therefore, it's possible I'm wrong but can't see how.

Errr I think we're talking the lock it up steering lock - not the how far you can turn the bars steering lock.
IF you use the yokes from a GenII RSVR-Factory then you will find that the steering lock no longer aligns with the hole and the pin is not long enough to engage in the hole once you have made it line up.
Of course both of these things are solvable - I've done so on my Falco with Ohlins forks and GenII RSVR-Factory yokes.
You need some spacers to get the alignment right (a stack of washers does the job) and you need to lengthen the steering lock pin (drill the pin, tap it and screw in a bolt with a tall enough head to engage in the hole - loctite it in place of course).
Easy peasy
Gen1 yokes on ohlins forks and there is no issue at all - the steering lock fits fine.

Nope .... but don't think it's going to transform the bike.flatlander wrote:So putting Ohlins on is a pain then ?
The Ohlins shock swap does transform it as the standard shock is rubbish but the standard forks are good so swapping to Ohlins at the front is an improvement but not a quantum leap

I thought that but he says "little lock on steering".D-Rider wrote:Nope .... but don't think it's going to transform the bike.flatlander wrote:So putting Ohlins on is a pain then ?

Yeah I noticed that but came to the conclusion that there was a bit of miscommunication or the chap on the far end of the phone had the wrong end of the stick.anzacinexile wrote:I thought that but he says "little lock on steering".D-Rider wrote:Nope .... but don't think it's going to transform the bike.flatlander wrote:So putting Ohlins on is a pain then ?

The lock it up steering lock is the only interpretation that makes any sense as the how far you move the bars stuff doesn't change.

Well as D said, there is no geometry difference between the models w/r to the yokes so although my Ohlins are in Falco yokes, I can confirm that the steering still goes from stop to stop. i.e. exactly the same amount of steering pre and post Ohlinsscottyni wrote:Just too clarify........
Gen1. Mille/ohlins.
What's he said is there is little steering....ie lock to lock is reduced. As said. He may be over exaggerating..not know until I see it myself
