Got to say, lovely bike.....pain in the harris to work on! been planning on changing the spark plugs but was forced into it at the weekend when the thing flooded and would not play, rear cylinder no probs, front cylinder was a different story. last person that worked on it must have superglued the HT caps onto the plugs, an hour to get an HT cap off, i ask you!! needless to say some thing broke, apart from my will to live, and although i'm back up and running with a bit of a bodge i'd like to do a more proper job only thing is that aprilia oe caps are 30 bucks a throw, 120 sobs for 4 caps...no way!!

checked with Suttons, they say no alternative, do any of you gents know any different? 120 quid? i'm still in shock, and its nothing to do with being scottish

not sure to be honest, did see them already and thought they were more car orientated as the short 90 degree ends are obviousely for a distributor, so long as the plug caps themselves are not moulded to the lead then they probably could be used, there's also a full set of used coils/leads/caps on ebay for about 70 notes, popped into ducati glasgow the other day and they had some long straight ngk caps but i didnt have the aprilia one with me to compare, maybe have to check that out again. it is the inboard cap on the front cylinder that im concerned about as it is a very loose fit and although space is tight im worried it might pop off if i hit a bump/poyhole, and there's plenty o them about.

the old plugs were a right state, could check the gaps with a tape measure, they were that bad. throttle response and pick-up is much improved with a nice new set of iridium plugs in there.

I looked at Joe's link, Racespec say the pic is ' a generic set of leads' and the correct caps supplied with your order, which would be 2 caps @ 90 degrees, 2 caps @ 122 degrees.
Good price for high spec leads and caps !
Think I will get some on payday !

Not certain but I think Dale might have meant the OEM caps - rather than those Magnecor jobs

duly ordered all four for less than the price of one aprilia item, and that includes the postage. many thanks again.

Indeed, those are the standard caps, no leads. But at least you won't have to spend £30 buying from aprilia. The caps just push onto the existing ht leads.
