Morning All.

Hello.
Thought I'd take the liberty of introducing myself. I have a 2005/05 Falco in Olympic Bronze, bought in August last year with 29,000 miles on the clock, to which I have since added 2,000.
It came with the following mods:
- GPR cans
- K & N filter
- Ohlins rear shock
- Braided hoses
- R & G crash bungs
- LSL yoke with Renthal 'bars
Not long after buying it I fitted a Forza chip and fitted the correct top yoke and clip-ons. It's still wearing the Roadsmarts it had on when I got it, which are great on the road.
Last week I started tearing it down for a bit of a restoration, to get it surgically clean and improve it in a few areas. Here's what I've either done, am in the process of doing, or will do before completion (within the next couple of weeks at the latest):
- Replace all front disc bolts with new
- Replace caliper bolts with new
- Replace front spindle nut with new
- Repaint wheels to remove chips/flakes (Volkwagen metallic graphite touch-up paint matches perfectly)
- Polish downpipes to remove all brown tarnishing
- Change oil & filter
- New brake pads & fluid
- New plugs
- Calipers removed and cleaned
- New clutch fluid
- New coolant
- Forks removed for clean out and new oil (Marzocchis - 10wt instead of 7.5, 100mm air gap instead of 110mm)
- New Skidmarx belly pan (just arrived, really chuffed with it)
- New Dunlop Sportsmarts
- Full degreaser/toothbrush/magnifying glass clean and polish, inside & out
The only thing left to do afterwards will be the valve clearances, which I shall get done at some point in the spring before I take it on track. Track days planned so far are Snett 18th March & Cadwell 6th April.
I was also recommended a 1-tooth smaller front sprocket but I quite like the way the front pings up off bumps and hovers a foot off the ground for a while when you're accelerating hard in second; down-gearing it might make it too wheelie-prone.
Wants:
- Some way to eliminate grab handles
- Clear or smoked indicators & rear lenses
- Someone to buy my LSL top yoke/billet risers/Renthal 'bars
- Some sunshine & dry roads
Toodle oo for now.
