New member after a Falco!

#1 Post by tom_casson » Fri Feb 08, 2013 1:59 pm

Hello all,

Ive recently come into some spending money and can finally look into getting a Falco! I had a TDM 900 twin which I really enjoyed but the riding position wasnt for me. My friend ended up getting a 2001 Mille 6 months back and I love the engine! I considered getting a Mille but I just love the Falco styling. Anyway, Ive had my eye open for a few months now and Id be looking for one anywhere up to £2400.

If there is anyone out there looking to sell in the next month or so, or you have any contacts, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Tom

Welcome Tom.

Congratulations on coming into some spending money! must be a nice feeling!

For 2400 you should be able to get a nice shiny falco. Keep your eyes on the classified section of this site, and also on eBay.

People will be along shortly to advice on what mods you need to make to your falco when you get it! Just have the credit card ready!

This might be a place to start, Autotrader says on price and the shiops web site says another.

http://www.motostrada.co.uk/bikeDetail. ... =&records= or this which is your price range.

http://www.arnoldsmotorcycles.com/Locator.aspx a red one for £2500
Speed Blue SL 1000 Falco
Harley Davidson....the most efficient way to turn petrol into noise without the embarrassing by-product of horsepower..

Hi Tom and welcome to Ridersite :smt006

Those TDMs are nice bikes .... but the good news is that Falcos are even better (don't say it too loud in front of the Yamaha boys - we don't like upsetting them .... well, not all the time)

Many of us would also tell you that the Falco is a better road bike than a Mille.

For the sort of money you have available, you should get a nice one and still have some left over to spend on goodies.

Don't misunderstand, the Falco is a great bike as standard but with a bit of fettling can be made brilliant ...... and this forum is full of people who have changed bits and pieces.

Thanks for the quick response guys.

Ye, I thought my budget was realistic. I'm hoping to either get a lightly modded one for £2400 or £2000ish for a standard one?!

Wayno...I like the look of the red on on carandclassic.... Pity its in Kent!

As you are in gods own county blinky will be along soon and he will likely know what's available.... Apart from the 4 he owns......

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
