Falco prices

Not too sure as Falco prices seem to be dropping just recently, so you would not get as much as it is really worth, even worse at this time of year!
If you do sell it, you have to remove the carbon cans and and sell separately, and possibly the screen as well.
Sorry but I'd also say keep the Falco and sell one of the others, probably the Buell.
The Falco has a real engine, not one from a 1950s tractor, although the Buell is the best place these old tractor engines have ever been fitted!
NO LONGER IN CONTEXT NOW REMOVED FROM ORIGINAL THREAD, SO PROBABLY BEST IGNORED !!

But will Falco prices recover?
I seriously doubt it as much as I'm sure I'll get flack for saying so, there are more modern bikes going for similar money.

agreed though I think its more of a general malaise rather than just our bikes

Our bikes have always been under-valued ......... which suits me fine as I'd never have afforded one otherwise (well, never have got it past the "domestic chancellor" .... and I'm not sure the "go on, do whatever you want" was the most resounding endorsements of my plan)

That normally means 'Do ya feel lucky, punk? Well do ya?' in my experience...

It is a pain to think how much I have lost on the Falco in the "little" time I have had it.
Let's think, I got it 8 1/2 years ago when Aprilia were looking a little dodgy.
It was 3 years old with 6k miles, in really good nick and it cost me £3K.
I reckon if I sold it now I could probably get around £2K, if I sold the bits off separately and refitted standard parts, especially the original lightweight OZ wheels and titanium cans. (
Might even get a bit more than £2k all in).
But let's not be greedy, so in 8 1/2 years I will have lost a massive £1k.
Lets add on the cost of the only two items that have failed which was about £20, and it is clear it has been a complete money pit.
Just another reason why I bloody love it so much.
Yeh, there have been servicing costs, tyres etc., and I have spent a "little" money on presents for it, such as the wheels and cans etc., etc..
Nevertheless, I think I am "quite" happy with £117.65 per year in depreciation for the best bike I have ever owned.
How could I ever get that much pleasure each year for less than 120 quid.

Just a note:
I've split these posts from the thread in the "For Sale" section - I didn't think it fair on the seller to follow his attempts to get a reasonable price with a long discussion about how Falcos don't make what they ought to.
That said, please carry on discussing here

its alright pops....
Grand daddy badger pubes decided to use his nija l33t web admin skills and seperate out the discussion on falco prices in general from a seperate thread where a member was contemplating selling his falco
possibly accounts for the feeling of deja vu you may have experienced on a new thread....

I said it in a far more convoluted manner and used a lot more words - ie Howard speak, so Howard would understand it.....
perhaps a few more paragraphs would have been an idea?
(I am expecting a large raspberry ! )

At least I don't have post diaohrea.
The three of us joined the site at about the same time in January 2007, (
when the old site closed), since then I have had 3416 posts, Pete has a massive 7367 and nobody gets anywhere near Andy on 11717 (
more than me and Pete combined, although its probably gone up another 20 or so while I'm typing).
Then again it's not about the number of words per post with Andy it's the number of posts per thread, which can sometimes reach double figures.
Then again at least half of them are some sort of banter between Andy and Pete, which nobody else understands discussing the badgers genitals or whatever, (
what are they going to talk about if they all get culled?)
Being serious, I just thought my first post should have stayed where it was, as it was an answer to a question, the rest is fine.

Sorry maybe didn't split in the right place - not an easy call as yours was the first that started the discussion about Falco prices not being what they might.
Apologies if I got it wrong - my intention was just to help the cause of one of our members selling his bike and to try to maintain the subsequent discussion in a relatively coherent manner.

When the badger cull starts I expect Andy will wear two pairs of y fronts as a safety measure
