Falco doesn't give me the horn anymore

#1 Post by Nooj » Thu Apr 12, 2007 8:06 pm

I press the horn button and it blows the fuse, which means I also loose the dash, headlight, tail and brake lights and indicators.

Everything else works together and in isolation, and with as much stuff as I can turn off turned off, pressing the horn button still blows the fuse.

So... switch, wiring or horn? Where do I start my search for the short? Any ideas?

I'd start with a switch. It is really poor quality. I don't think a horn can cause a short? I may be wrong. Hate electrical problems :smt011

Pull the grey wire off the horn and then try it. If the fuse blows strip the switch for a short.
It is most likely the grey is shorting out somewhere.

FYI, the green wire is the power to the switch. (The green powers the high/low/pass and horn)

Almost certainly the horn itself or. possibly, a short to ground (frame etc) from the wire between switch and horn.
Switch itself is highly unlikely.

Not looked at the wiring diagram to confirm but I think I'm probably confirming what Paddy already said.

Don't know how to fix your problem, but would like to fit a proper (read loud and manly) horn to the falco, getting sick of that little sound the original makes, so has anyone fitted a proper horn to your bird?
The problem with common sense is, its not very common
