Clickety click.. farrrt. Bugger, won't start

Getting ready for a short ride to the office this morning. Bike started normally, warmed up. Got on the bike to ride it, and then the bike cut out, resetting the clock and did some strange things on the display like showing the oil light but no neutral light. When I thumb the starter, I get a loud repetitive clicking and a farting noise from under the rear seat. Have put the battery on tender to make sure it's fully charged, but it doesn't look like it wants to fire up.
Definitely one of the relays clicking, assume the starter solenoid relay.
What do you guys reckon?

+1 on the starter solinoid but I would double check your battery first just to be safe.

starter solenoid

whip the rear cowl off and short across it - bet it starts and runs then....

Could be a dodgy connection under the seat if it happened when you got on, but more likely the solenoid or duff battery as said above
