Sidestand again !

Hi,
just back into falco owning after 3 yrs away, suddenly remembered the chronic sidestand when i collected the bike....
so whats best and easiest change guys

im reading
04-07 fireblade stand (leg and springs)
or
vtr stand (leg only?)

Yep.i used the blade stand.works for me :smt020

yep

vtr stand will fit straight in BUT you do have to drill a hole for the sidestand switch - and adjust the kick down lever with a hammer

welcome back - your arse should be in the bar getting the ales in :)


Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Made the mistake of trying an SV1000 for a while and didnt like it, no soul, no character..

now back to an olympic bronze falco (appropriate!)

Just fitted a 04 Fireblade stand and was a simple job and far better.

Might need to shorten the leg slightly though.

£64 from a honda dealer...seems a good price. Cant find jack on ebay

There's a thread on here somewhere of a Honda dealer offering a good price for the stand. But I don't think it's much less than what you've been quoted. (can't remember what I paid)

It was coxhonda in Lancaster - but I phoned them for this, the person in spares I spoke to knew nothing of it and never called back as promised. :smt009
