Check your brake side footrest for tightness, just managed to snap mine :(
I've been bleeding the rear brake recently (nearly working) and sort of noticed the footrest was v v slightly wobbly, but didn't really think much of it. Out on a ride, the pedal and brake lever fell off and on checking found the bolt holding it on has sheared clean off.
From what I can see, unless this bolt is kept 100% tight, all the work is being done by the bolt, which eventually gives up the ghost........Mind you, with all the vibration - enough to partially numb the hands after an hour - might have to pay more attention.....
All this and 39 mpg too, just from pootling about, moan moan, blah blah.
