Revelations

Well, the first one came about 6 months after I bought the bike - changed the stock Mez3's for Diablo's, the bike turned so sharp (or so I thought) that I thought I was going to turn into the kerb.

The next one came yesterday - got the new shock fitted :smt040

To say I'm pleased would be an understatement - I've already noticed a huge difference in handling, my confidence pushing through corners has gone up dramatically, and already the chicken strips have started to dwindle away (still a while to go yet - target for this summer!). There's a couple of roundabouts around where I work, where the tarmac has "grooves" cut across it just on the exit - the old shock really kicked me around, the new one I can just drive as if the tarmac was smooth. How much is the shock, and how much is the set-up (just standard set-up from the factory), I don't know. But I even had a grin on my face going to work this morning :smt023

Looks cool Firestarter - How much £££'s and did it fit without any major surgery (linkages etc) - I'm assuming it's a Falco specific shock

It does look very nice... and that looks like the same silver ghost hugger that I've got.

I've never noticed the nipples on the bottom of the battery box before. :smt005 :smt005

Hi FS
Glad your happy with the new shock, i,m OK with the (dodgy) white spring Sachs.
Still think your bike would look better with a black hugger.
If your still up for the swap, how about Sat 21st or Sun 22nd of this month.
As you were good enough to delivery the shock to meet me, I would be willing to come over to you if you've got the facilities to change them over.
Let me know if your still interested and if these dates are ok.

Ken.

Yup, Falco specific. Cost £460 inc VAT & del, from Moore Speed Racing (although came direct from Nitron).

No major issues with fitting, main one was the spacers at the bottom of the shock were 1mm wider than stock, so had to slacken the triangles to fit, then re-tighten everything.

Falken, yup still up for it, I'm actually in Sheffield that weekend in the car, so I'll pop the hugger off and drive it over. PM me your address and we'll sort something out for Saturday?

Guess I should have just filled them with silicone, but by the time I realised that it looked crap I'd already fitted the battery and couldn't be bothered to remove it :smt015
