finally got around to getting the comfort bars from topyoke.com fitted - not sure! For a start it meant more butchery than I'd thought and left me a nasty edge to paint blue (any ideas on touch-up paint?) , also messed up the 100 mph turbulence - seems like that fairing was more carefully designed than I'd thought....hmmmm.

Plus, now I just get a view of my elbows in the mirror and sleeves full of wind! What have I done? Really wish I hadn't cut my fairing and been a bit more patient and bought someone's ready cut one... :(

The new position isn't very natural feeling, bars too wide, so hopefully I can get as much as an inch off each end, which might help with the mirror issue, maybe rotating the bars a bit will help too.

Early days though and despite feeling more like a hooligan than a gentleman connoisseur, I do feel a lot more confident round the lanes, which was the whole idea, so maybe all will turn out well..........

I personally would not cut the top off a perfectly good genuine fairing.
You can buy fibreglass ones off ebay now and modify one of those.

yeah, feeling surprisingly guilty at compromising the purity.......but just been out for a ride the bumpy B-roads around here and the bike feels, well, just more fun - starting to speed up though, which is the opposite of what was meant to happen ;)
