How much is this likely to cost?

I thought there was something wrong with the Falco other than the fact that it wouldn't start. Turns out someone reversed into it. Knocked it over, then struggled to pick it up.

They didn't leave any details, but a guy who lives next to where I park witnessed the whole event and took down their registration.

I've popped a note on their car and informed the police (as they should have reported it since they didn't leave their details).

So that's a variety of scuff scratches and dents. The bike was undercover, though that now has multiple holes in it.

You could probably say that is close to a write off if you get it repaired through approved places.

Full respray, new can, new levers, bar end, mirror...

Aint cheap. Yorkshire Aprilia website is a good guide.

A small 3" scratch and scuffed wing mirror on my car cost 900+ to fix and the only thing that prevented it being a write off was the fact it was registered as a 2000 not a 1997 model...

Yours is the green rare as heck one too? Oh dear. oh very dear.

I think I would be posing the question of how many years you get for murder as fixing the bike would be the last thing on my mind.

a new tank is 1250 plus vat...

so - cat c write off

BUT

the main thing is the front sub frame - those buggers are as rare as hens teeth.....

SO.... may well be decision time - screw them for as much as you can, buy it back from the insurance company

IF - and i repeat IF it is a right off, and it is going away permanently, then well - i have already called you.....

I remember when I came off my falco the front end basically had to be replaced the nose cone etc was over £500, check radiators for leaks as well ( they're a nasty finish as the bolts can shear and that'll split the shell)
What would be usefull is a picture taken from about 8 or 9 foot away, gives a better idea how it was knocked over.
Also the clipon (throttle?) looks bent.

Check for cracks in the engine casing 2.

Mine came to over £1000 by the time everything was put right and that was 5 years ago, expect prices to have had a hike by now.

The frame can be straightened professionaly, and why a new tank

. On the Apriliaforum you can get a tank for $300 and a proper paint job done (ie not crappy italian job) for about £500 for all that needs doing

Because it has to be returned to pre accident condition, something that cant be done with a plastic tank? it is plastic?

..and Gio, the bike is in the UK. UK insurers wont buy from overseas, pay import tax, etc.

my thought was the tank had a dent / was damaged - and lets be honest, where in the bloody hell do you get a colour match for that colour?

so - it is either a new tank - and strangely enough I think the oasis green panels are the only ones available off the shelf - or dream machine - factor in the labour etc and i fear we are up in new tank territory

I have spoken to Carl and we have discussed a few things already

(We also know where the driver lives..... )

There's plenty of repairers out there for plastics, but i think the tanks a resin based one

so when i had to have a new generator cover on my blackbird and it had to be sent from Japan................

Called my insurance just to report the incident initially. The response "call back tomorrow" lol.

Here is how it was parked. Like I said it was under cover.

I always park between the permit bays and the yellow lines. There's a little gap. This means that I don't take up space for permit holders.

The car that did it is just up the road on the right, out of shot.

You can see holes in the cover where it's hit the ground.
