Minor Oil Leak

Just been for a blast and parked up and noticed a small drip of oil on the garage floor. Further investigation revealed oil splash on the exhaust pipework on RHS just below the coolant expansion tank. Looked closer and I think it's coming from the sensor which I am assuming is the oil pressure sensor. Wiped it clean and there is no seepage when the engine is not running so I'm presuming it's only when the oil is under pressure.
It doesn't seem to be leaking from the point where it bolts into the engine, but from where the electric spade connector fits into the body of the sensor.
So - anyone else had this? I presume it's a straight swap out. Timely really cos I need to do an oil change anyway.

Not had this myself but I have heard it has happened to others.

Happened to me. Switch weeped from where the metal body crimps the plastic. No biggie to change, don't even have to drain oil.
...in fact, apart from consumables, that's the only thing to fail on me in 60K miles

Thanks anzac. Just the job. Located the part and looks to be about £12 plus vat.

okay Ill steal this thread then :) suggestions for where my oil is going I think I occasionally notice a seepage on the front left casing as if it is coming from under the fairing not from the oil filler cap itself or anything but it is getting a little concerning

Sometimes the front cam cover seal develops a leak around where the sensor wire passes through.
From where you say you are seeing the oil, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the source - particularly as it's not that easy to get a look at.

...I've had the oil pressure sensor fail, but most recent oil leak turned out to be from my rear shock absorber.

Which reminds me.... I really do have to get my shock absorber repaired before summer arrives.
