Good news that you got the bike back and will be repairing it! :smt001

Has it been officially written off - Cat C or D?

It's a Cat C.

There was no way to accept a payout and not have it recorded.

It makes no odds really though. Sure i'd lose £1k is sold or I needed to make another claim, but i've already been compensated for that.

First step now is to get it rideable. Then repair the cosmetic damage. Then sort out any little mods I might want. :smt003

Tis a shame that - but at least it makes it less likely you will sell it in the future!!!! :smt003

How are you doing getting the parts?

So far I have:

Battery - YTZ14S
Tuono sprocket cover (for when I replace the clutch slave)

To get it ridable I Need:

Right-hand rearset and brake assembly
Right-hand handlebar
Clutch slave

Oh I need to get to the bottom of why it won't start

Cosmetic bits

Bar ends
Tank respray/touch up
Front fairing respray/touch up
Mid fairing respray
Mirrors

Desired bits

Clear puig touring screen (impossible to find now)
New leavers
End cans
DNA air filter

It also needs a good check over to make sure there isn't any damage to the radiators etc..

errr well that's what we managed to do a couple of months back - just compensation for the damage caused. The assessor valued it and said it should be written off. We said "bollox". done temporary repairs and are still using it. A couple of MOTs etc later while the case to agree liability dragged on .... they paid up with the cost of writing it off but without it being written off.

If it's close enough then that might have been doable. the problem was that the assessed damage was more than double the cost of the bike.

The insurer has done everything by the book which is fair enough.

Sounds like the best conclusion you could get in the circumstances, hope you get it all sorted and back on the road quickly.
As already mentioned, check the tip over switch near the battery and if has come unclipped, make sure you put it back the right way up, as it will clip on upside down! (I learned the hard way!).

I had already checked that switch, removed it and pit it back. It was the right way up and the resistance was within spec.

I did on the US site though that someone had the same problem i.e no spark, and it turned out to be a faulty tip over switch which wasn't displaying on the dash, and tested fine.

I'd look to the kill switch having taken a jolt and dislodging something

You can't turn the bike over with a faulty kill switch.

I've checked it out.

It's going to be one of the sensors, or a hidden fuse somewhere.

I'll be going over it with a fine tooth comb when it gets delivered back to me.
