Hmmm .....
Someone I know
may have acquired some spare 51mm TBs. On their behalf
I may have been in contact with Braced Engineering.
I've a bit more detail on what they do but the prices I've been given are somewhat more expensive.
Mr Mafia of the extreme West Country ..... is there a special handshake or password that we need to get them at £145 ... and can you remember exactly was or wasn't included?
Note: The email address above didn't work for me but this one does: contact@braced.co.ukcornish mafia wrote:Have been in touch with those people and they said that they could do your old throttle bodies to 54's with stacks for £145 .......... Which after all the hunting i've been doing for them is a very good price , wish i knew about these lot a long time ago .........Am trying to get a web site off them or a better contact to get in touch but you could always email them at this address to ask any questions : - "ian brace" .. ianbraz@blueyonder.co.uk ...
DID I TELL YOU I GOT 54'S AND THEY'RE GOING ON TOMORROW !!!!
cornish mafia wrote:www.braced.co.uk .....this is the email addess , there is nothing on there about throttle bodies but get in contact and he will be able to sort you out ...........

So, delivered to your doorstep the conversion will cost £195 with plain ally velocity stacks or £205 with anodised velocity stacks - plus you've got to get your TBs to him in the first place.in an email, Braced Engineering wrote:When we bore out throttle bodies, we bore the casting to size, make a new set of butterflies and modify the standard butterfly shaft to suit.
Check alignment of butterflies to bore wall.
If you remove the rubber pipes, throttle sensor and empty the fuel from the TB's before posting that would be great.
This stage costs £125.00
Our velocity stacks are CNC machined billet aluminium, matched to bore size and supplied with fixing screws.
They cost £45.00 per pair in a raw aluminium finish. or £55.00 per pair, anodised finish available in gold, silver, black, red, blue.
I only post these TB's royal mail special delivery, insured for £700, because if they do get lost or damaged in the post it would cost £700 for a new set of TB's.
Postage costs £25.00.
All prices include everything, no hidden cost's or extra charges.

Hi D
The price i got was from the man whos address i gave out , i'd emailed him and that was the price he sent back to me to have the the increase in bore done . Not too sure if i have kept email but will have a look for you and see if i can find it ..........i did say that i would be letting people know and he was happy enough with that so not too sure why price hike should be happening ......
But as for the special handshake there's always one needed to get your self in to deepest darkeset South West .......

Sorry just re-read you last post .....not far of what i was told then really , before adding extras ........Now if you northern monkeys could just open those purse strings a little bit more you'd be able to have 54's
........and trust me they're well worth it ...Apart from the fact that mines running like a bag of spanners at the moment..
Found a power commander going cheap ( thanks ebay ) so now just about to fit it and hope that will sort it out .......need to find a map for Renegede cans , open airbox and 54 throttle bodies .....anyone got one ??? And also maybe a fitment page / photo to see the correct wire to fit the grey wire to from the PC iii ?
I know the countries in the shit but for £50 difference it's not that bad yet .......otherwise sell the bike !!!
Oh forgot to say as well , first day back straight into garage taken Falco Triangles and dogbone out replaced with RSVR one and now a lot better , rear Ohlins up to Max on ride height and forks may have to go down one more ring to five but will think about that .........LOOKS GOOD WITH BLACK SWINGING ARM and when i can be bothered to clean the dam thing will post photos ..........It's so close to being finished i can almost smell the money i'll be saving when it's done !!!

Still not that close - even if you knock off postage and only go for non-anodised stacks it comes to £170 - that's still £25 more than the £145 you reported.cornish mafia wrote:Sorry just re-read you last post .....not far of what i was told then really , before adding extras
However ......... just wondering if the prices you were quoted were ex-VAT as £145 +17.5%VAT = £170.37.
- so maybe that's it

re a base map to use
on the powercommander website, there is a german tuono map - with renegade bits etc
that is what I use
BUT - use that till you have everything modded that you want, then open up them south west purse strings and get a specific map for your bike done
:)
(And then send it to me as it will help mine until the last little mod i am doing, performance wise, is fitted....)

That's what i like some fighting spirit although i thought i would have got a better kicking for that northern quote..
!!!
Right first thing first ........will be fitting PC III this weekend so hoping that will sort out the bike for the time being ..........I went yesterday to get the thing dyno'd but the man who i use can't fit me in for two weeks from now ( going on holiday.......selfish bastard
) where he will be having the bike for a couple of days and hopefully sorting it out once and for all for a fee of £200 - £250 .....probably the second one......sorry D not sure if that's will VAT or not !!
....
And yes Aladinsaneuk as soon as it's done i will get it downloaded for you .....if it's going to be any good for you ?
Think i've said before but it's got a Gabro chip in it which he did for me for the larger throttle bodies .......did i tell you i've got 54's !!? .......anyway between 3 - 5 rpm it's S.H.I.T. ......runs way too rich and smells it as well ......Anyway email Gabro and he's given me a lst of things to try first about setting throttle bodies up and tweaking pots etc etc ...
Needless to say well over my head but what's the worse that could happen ?!?!
Right i'm off to get in my tractor and take out some of these annoying tourists on the lands end road ...........

That's a lot of wonga for a PCIII setup - though I guess there may not be a huge amount of choice in places to go in that part of the world.
You certainly seem to be creating your own Beast of Bodmin with all of these power mods.

use the map i have suggested - it should be a lot better than what you have atm
(M907-503 European Model. Renegade Racing Kit, Shotgun slip-ons, air-box, air filter and eprom )
you still have falco headers on that bike? if so then the dyno pc3 setup will sort the bottom end out
if you have mille headers and collector box then there is one other thing for the low end that may help - but that is probably not necessary in all honesty - ie do not change headers!
if you do get a map done for your bike, as it is, then it would be interesting to see what it does in mine

Having never had one fitted before I have to admit not too sure how it all works D ....how many runs they need ? how long does it take etc . Like you say there is NO choice down here but am willing to travel if i have too !? TBH i did think that was quite abit for what is needed........maybe i better start phoning round .
Tell you what i really need and that's that Griff man to move down south for a week so i can let him work his magic on it ..........
Hopefully i've very very nearly finished with the mods , after this is sorted i'm thinking maybe progressive springs in the front and then those rocking horse S##T oz WHEElS .........
Mate has an RSVR so trying my best to make sure it's always in view , corners is OK but the straights is where i lose it ..........although am getting better

More or less.
You actually download a block of maps together but when you come to load it you can choose which to squirt in to your PCIII.
Just visit the website - it's easy to work out what to do.

go through downloads, pc3 then select make and model and year - aprilia, tuono 2003
then you can download all maps or just a specific one
A dynomap should take a couple of hours to set up. I have done a complete dyno run - took 20 mins or so. the technician then said to me that all the work had basically been done and he needed two hours max for mine - so around 80 quid. he did say that when they have bikes that numpties have put together - leaking seals etc, then they always allow time in their quote to put that lot right
If your local dyno place has a dyno morning - seastar do locally to me for instance, then you can take it there and get a straight printout done for 20 quid or so - that is what I did. Then ask the technician how long it would take to get it set up properly and the cost then... hence why i got quoted for a couple of hours
hope that helps
