The early bubseywoo stands are fine - one of the bikes I look after has one fitted
BUT
From summer? 2010 the quality has gone - lots of reported problems from many reliable sources
The ones from September last year are, it would seem, a crock of shit
I had one of the very early ones and I have always been very happy with it.
...sounds about right, bought mine early Spring last year and has been ok
Take it all back...it's been splaying for a while, just didn't realise until last Fri, couldn't beleive the play...all those nice things i said
Considering my alternatives as we speak (type)!!

Hi all,
This saga with his stand keeps going on, and on, they are a pile of doodoo.
Mine snapped, most seem to have the foot at the wrong angle

Obviously his R+D has been lacking the fact that he probably didn't even try it on a flippin falco
Sent it back and get an american one, if you can, or the other REAL recommendations (Gixer, or VTR).
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

Not at all happy. Off to the IOM in a couple of weeks for the annual lads trip to the ManxGP and whilst giving the falco a service noticed that the 'U' where the sidestand bolts to the mount had seriously widened. It doesn't look to be far off snapping at the mount. (and yes it is a bubseywoo stand). I bought it off ebay this time last year after worrying that the standard stand wouldn't take kindly to last years ferry crossing.
After a quick search on here (and due to needing one asap) I have ordered a K6 blade stand from Honda. Fingers crossed this one is up to the job.

Just a brief update. Picked up my new stand from Honda (06 Blade) and I can confirm it fits a treat and appears to be very solid.
In case anyone was wondering, I just ordered the stand itself and reused the original aprilia switch, bolts and springs which all fitted fine.
At just under £50 inc VAT this seems to me to be the way forward.

Excellent news. i got mine off fleabay a tad cheaper as it was slightly used. Used the stand, and the springs that came with it and a washer. Better lean angle with the ohlins fitted

Black is fastest!

..... which then needs modifying to fit on the European bike's frame.

...or a little dremel work on the engine case and you can keep the 3rd bolt. VERY much stronger

Well the US options a distant dream now, leg was £87, the bracket £45 etc so was getting priced out of that option
Sooo Gixer option- Will has offered but is pretty busy at the mo!
Fireblade- does anyone have the part number for a new one?
Only in a hurry becaus the MOT is due in a couple of weeks and the play on the 'bubsywoo' one may cause a fail

Are you sure the sidestand is an MOT requirement?

Not sure, but going on what he did last time he lifts the bike up on to the stand and rotates it around so not confident it will stand up to that again if it's starting to splay now
Regardless just want to crack on with an alternative if anyone has lead/link on the right one to get, i know the year, just don't want to cock up again and order the wrong thing!!

That hardly sounds like good practice.
even if we've all done it

Let him do it, break yer stand and let him pay for a new one. Might teach him not to do that in future. As Sam said, it's not a good idea at the best of times (not designed for that sort of thing) and certainly not for a professional.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Blackbird stand, about £15. Switch looks the same as ours, so I'm hopeful it'll just bolt on like the 'Blade one does. Who's brave enough to try it?
