Copied from earlier post.
This is how to find the Castle Barge at Newark-on-Trent.
Just so anybody thinking of coming knows how to find it.
The first map link shows the general approach from the A1 / A46 / A617 / A17 etc..
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... cale=50000
FORGET the red ring, it's where Multimap thinks the barge is, but it's NOT there.
The next link shows a close up of the area near the river.
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi? ... imap.y=136
As shown on the map, come over the bridge from the left and turn first left into the car park towards the barge.
The final link is to the Castle Barge Website, which has aerial views.

My main worry is the heavy rain and now the forecast of strong winds to go with it. I'll go out in most weathers, but I'm only comin down 30 odd miles. I'm a bit worried about some other poor sods comin up 150 miles or so from further south, then havin the same distance to go back through shit weather and strong winds.
Suppose if it comes to the worst, might just be a few of us who are pretty local, so we can have a chat and plan another one in about a month!
Then again, the weather forecasters might just possibly have got wrong, (not unusual) and we could get a really good run out. I did around 120 odd miles last Sunday afternoon, Sheffield to Newark and on to Gainsborough.
Got to Gainsborough and was goin to take the short route back to Sheffield, but enjoyin it so much turned round and went back round Newark again. It was the first decent run out on the Falco since the off in early December, and it was bloody great, my old CBR1000F winter hack is good old tank, but it's not the same!!
