I was under the impression that they shared distributors, but had different additives, erm, added at that stage. :smt017
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

i would stick with semi in the silver jay

the only ones I am 100 percent certain would be fine with full synth oil are the olympic bronze and oasis green..... and if it is not broke, don't fix it


Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Oasis is in for slave cylinder seal to be repaired next saturday...
Servicing sunday. ready for taxing Then hopefully some nice weather with no fooking wind for a ride out... :smt003

Aprilia certainly changed something around 2001/2 ....

Different friction material maybe? Change of clutch component suppliers that Rotax were using?

That would be my guess - though that would normally be accompanied by a change in part number.
The thing is we don't have access to lists of different part numbers for things that have been upgraded and the old part no longer applicable.

i seem to recall some one, with an original black, changing their clutch for a genuine oem aprilia one last year - and the full synth still slipped - also, when folk fitted the barnett clutches, the early bikes still slipped with full synth....


Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

lol yep - you would put full synth in and watch the clutch spin more than a political advisor
