Huzzah - Bike newly MOT'd - will wait to end of Month to re-tax then all systems go (more snow probably).

I don't remember the bars being that low before? - and surely it was easier to find neutral and that exhaust's louder than I recall etc etc.

First ride of the year, hasnt been started since November, unplug the Optimate and she stareted first prod of the button, Laverdas never did that. 180miles in the sunshine later, I now remember why I bought a Falco.

I'm beginning to regret starting this thread now. I still haven't been out on the Falco since whenever it was. Too many other distractions.

Lots of DRz riding though :smt003

Rubbish - there's just one of me.

Ended up riding a big 500cc single yesterday though ......
Coming out of the footee, knocked the fast idle off too soon and it cut out. Half-flooded it (one pot) restarting it. Then I was caught in traffic mayhem for ages and I couldn't open it up to clear it - which made things even worse. Even when I got going it wouldn't clear ..... and it's not nice knowing it can chime in at a moment's notice and you go from no power to hyper-drive .... especially when 2-up.

Wouldn't clear at all yesterday so was resigned to pulling the plugs today.
Just before I did, I thought I'd try one last time with the wide open throttle starting routine. One pot starts .... then ..... cough splutter ...... bam - we're sorted.

Did 130 miles on the Fazer today. Looking forward to getting the Falco up and running again now, kept thinking "If I was on the Falco, I could have done an overtake easilly there" or "That lump in the road would have caused a nice sized wheelie on the Falco". Trouble is, I'd have also been thinking "I'd better look for a petrol station soon", where as the Fazer had only just dropped the needle below the full mark by the time I'd got home.

Now I can........ (remember the last time etc)

Had a quick spin out this afternoon through the forest and what a pleasure it was. Roads were dry and there were even patches of tarmac visible through the sand and mud.

Road was almost empty too - amazing !

Now let me think, how long is it since I was last out on the Falco?

Oh yeh, I remember ..... yesterday !!
The weather was great round our way.
Went out through Blyth and Gainsborough, then took the A156 and A1133 down to Newark, a road I use most weekends. There seemed to be quite a few people out for the first real play of the season. Just past Gate Burton I picked up a Gixxer behind me, out through the 30 limit, then a 90 right short straight to a fastish 90 left, then a straight. Opened her up and overtook the car and the van in front, looked in the mirror, Gixxer dropping back, kept it pinned to around three figures then backed off as the road is pretty straight, but there are two junctions coming up, one on each side.
Just as I backed off what turned out to be a 58 reg Gixxer Thou howls past, pilot on tank pulling at least 140 plus. :smt006 :smt006
I'm pretty rusty, don't know how many times he'd been out, there were a few others having a serious play.
Had a great run down through Newark and back home.
