Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

good ohlins shocks with linkage for £250 each,
What's the common knowledge here; will 'good shocks' still require a service (oil change, is that it?) @ approx £100?
What is aim-to-pay for a white or yellow spring sachs (latter incl link)?
TIA

Bargain of the year! I paid 200 quid for a yellow-spring Mille shock a few years back.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

OK simon

my take on this

Most of these shocks are going to be around 10 years old - so a service / refurb is almost definitly due BUt - may not be

personally I would budget for a service etc - get one and then see what its like to ride.....

the white spring sachs units - no need for linkages, trade from 35 to 100 here in the Uk - i have paid 50 quid for one that was pristine, and 65 quid for one that was tatty and needed a service....

the yellow spring sachs units go for more - 75 to 150 imho

all prices are UK pounds btw - none of that EU stuff here :)

Hey lads its me, the guy with two 2000model rsvr's :smt003

From what I know, there will be two falcos with Oz wheels and another with ohlins type top yokes this week :smt002

Will load up some pictures in the for sale section.

I didn't realise you guys had such an active website, back in the day I had the first Falco out of Kawasaki Newcastle, a black Wreg one, my first ever new bike.

Coming from mainly fireblades back then, I couldn't get on with the aprilia, too much rear rebound damping, it used to ratchet down if you hit a series of bumps. I ended up with a Ohlins rear shock, then had renegade cans with a matching chip from a Spannish guy called Jorge from Kent. Had the bike a year, did a 3400mile 2up trip Spain,France,Monza WSB2000 and back. Then the front fairing mount cracked, Aprilia then did a 2year warranty except year 2 was not a full warranty...... Out went the dummy, and away went the Falco, back to blades, but after I calmed down I bought a RSVR which I had for over 5 years.

Welcome aboard, this is THE place for falco owners, and as you're already aware we're a bunch that like to fettle. You'll fit right in, especially if you have vulture food? Kev, yoke buyer

Good thanks, the yokes arrived safely and all looks good. Should have the forks on Saturday or so then I can get it all booked in at bikersworld, my local priller dealer for the refit.

A lack of headstock stand has defeated me, as has my tiny garage with its leaky walls
