Found a blue Alpha bag the older type and have since found out that the universal road adapter will fit.
I will leave it for a couple of months to try and find a tank cover, if I dont then I will buy and fit one of them.

There's more than a few of us here who some regard as 'old'; our pants don't look like that, nor are they made of faux leather. But I can't speak for Howard, as I've not met him yet.

However, Pete is rumoured to favour this look :

you kept that old photo of me??

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Can anyone explain the fuel tank to me?

Does the fuel pump and filter on the falco actually sit inside the tank with fuel floating around it, or is it more like the Mitsubishi pumps on Jap bikes and so completely separate from the fuel?

The first - pump and filter are in the fuel

Are they not service able items then?

Is it possible to remove them and use an outboard pump and filter?

I'm intrigued

No, perfectly serviceable.

Drain tank and remove bottom plate. Pump/filter are all there for service/replacement. Just be VERY careful putting the plate back on as the screws are very low torque and any over tightening WILL result in leaks
