Yup. Have to travel at the same speed as the bike. Tried faster than the bike, slower than the bike and even more sideways than the bike. None of them really work.

We've had this discussion so many times but the answer remains the same ................ BLACK.
Possibly something to do with the air ducts being larger on the early machines or possibly the beautiful polished alloy frames slipping through the air quicker.
Could also be a little help from the Dark Side.

Yellow one's are high visability for a reason. The other colours that "blend into the pavement" obviously are speed challenged (in standard form) as they did not warrant colours to be seen from further away. :smt019

think we are joking - ask Yellowduck.....

well, the green eyed monster makes people behave in unfortunate ways.
It's probably for the best as we don't know if the malady detected at the factory that made other bikes be painted not yellow is contagious. :smt102

Pete - we're fairly safe from this one - it's on the other side of the planet .... so the separation we required from Yellowduck is more than achieved

There is something to be said for all the colour's .

I have always liked yellow (my first proper bike an MZ 250 was very yellow, even had a car that colour once. (Ok Pete so I'm outa de closet.)
Me guzzi was red and my current Rs BM is blue. I had a rat dirt kawasaki bike which I think may have been green. The supra turbo and the old merc were silver. I've even had the od rust bucket....... :smt002

But my r50/5 was black and though not a fast bike was the quickest from A to B of its time, provided it was a fair distance and not a straight line. The Falco is also black and so far no qualifications necessary......

Actually Falcos are great in any colour, although we all have our own preferences.
Me, I just think the frames are the unique thing about the bike and they show up best in the natural mode, (polished alloy).
This also goes better with darker colours like the early black, red and blue.
Did even consider a yellow one once, (suppose I had to come out some time).
The dark frame ones still look great, especially the two red variations, but bronze and green are good and also look pretty unique. So lets just all agree that Falcos look great in any colour and all of 'em are fast enough for what we need.
(although the balck ones may just be a bit faster than the rest).

My VW T4 Transporter van is ex-AA and undoubtedly yellow. Things do get out of the way quick when you come up behind 'em sharpish in the outside lane... :smt003

There's nowt wrong with yellow...

Blue is the fastest, by quite a margin.
Yesterday I took a BMW X5 giving it some revs and a Triumph Sprint up hill with a single burp.
(yes it is big and clever)

Bronze is the really slow one, makes the steering heavy and I think it weighs 30lb more. (or is that down to the rider?)

Is he saying that the rider's of bronze ones are fat?

Few weeks ago I came up behind a BMW850 which took off.
I followed through 3 swoopy bends and went past him on the next straight. Far more easily than I expected. Because his other half was giving him a bollocking. :smt005
