but if you ever need any viagra - just ask sam.....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Ok....so after asking lots of questions about the heavily modded one previously owned by bigun, it must have been for sale elsewhere because I got home in the evening and the evilbay listing was closed. Shame, I had pretty much settled on that one.

There is an 05 bronze one I've been watching which ends in about 10 mins on evilbay. Current price £1,900, host of mods but does have 35k on it already. I know you guys say don't worry about the mileage but 3 years under my wing and it will be just shy of 60k. Even if the engine suffers no problems are the other parts going to be as hard wearing?

There is also the silver one in the classifieds that I linked to with the remus cans being sold by Firefox racing up in Keighley. About 200 miles for me so I need to be sure before I buy. My main problem with this bike is the price. Yes, it's low mileage but it's a 51 plate with no mods apart from the remus cans. I phoned the dealership and they said they hadn't come across the sidestand issue before. They also didn't think the rear suspension was that bad.

Not sure now whether to go for the "best of the rest" of the current selection or what until a few more come on the market. It seems to be pretty quiet for falcos at the mo or is it always this quiet?

They dont sell many Falcos then.. :smt012

Youre stuck either way really, there's a few about and not much interest at present, however if you leave it for a while there's no guarantee there'll be stock kicking about AND there may be increased interest from the summertime riders coming out of the woodwork.. especially after the last Ride Falcofest...

Mr "do it all at once" Mafia ..... please ensure there is a warning attached to posts containing bombshells such as this - it's as well I was seated when I read it.

:smt005 Fair warning to the new lads .......there's just to much to keep quiet !!!

I'm back at sea again trying to get enough money to carry on with the re-spray .........Have got it booked in for the 28th March with Griff in Exeter but he can't make it so someone else is coming instead. Fingers crossed he'll be able to get rid of the small "hitch" between 3 -5 thou revs plus it's a good excuse to go for a long blast and clear the cob webs ..........Can't wait....

Don't worry in the end he'll realise it's all done for his own good ..... :smt017

...still lurking. Not much new coming on to the market. There's the silver one still for sale up in yorkshire, but I reckon it's overpriced even if it is low mileage. Recently seen this one hit ebay. I've already asked the seller a few questions. It has no mods apart from slightly longer handlebars and performance cans. Chain guard is missing because previous owner had the chain snap on him when he was riding and it broke the guard and cracked the under side of the seat fairing (very small crack) (I'm also wondering what else might get damaged when a chain snaps.

I'm not instantly drawn to the colour but the price is quite attractive and leaves some left over for mods and thorough servicing> Mileage is a little on the high side for my liking but is buying a bike that has done 6-10k miles less worth £1000 more?

All thoughts on this example of a falco appreciated, even if it's just to say you can't stand the colour

Personally I don't like the colour, but that's a personal choice and is down to you.

I would be concerned as to why the chain had snapped?? Was he just really unlucky with a dodgy chain or was it due to lack of maintenance, and if this is the case and he didn't bother lubing the chain the I would say he wouldn't bother with any other jobs, I personally would be worried about buying it without giving it a very thorough check over (very thorough indeed) and a test ride (make sure you learn how to check the oil so you can check that while you're there).

I got mine last year for £2k with about 20000 on the clock, VGC all round, and it's one of the faster 'red' ones. Bargains are out there, don't rush into anything you're unsure about because sods law you will see a better bargain 2 days after you hand the cash over.

Just one more thing, and I know this is telling you how to suck eggs, but don't forget to run a quick HPI check, they cost a fiver now and it saves buying an ex write off and having the insurance company offer you £300 value for it should the worst happen, I've been looking for a project bike to replace my Zephyr and out of the 3 I've HPI'd 2 have been written off in the past (none of the owners mentioned this when I asked, just said they hadn't done one).

Good luck with the hunt and keep posting your potential buys, it saves me working during the day :smt003

It's on a y plate, don't worry about the shock too much either, yes they're crap, but I have an RSV one that I got for £70 to go on mine so it's not an expensive mod.

VERY VERY interested in the black one from Ozboy you posted the link for. the others I've been watching but again think they are priced quite high versus what owners on here are selling for and that might be why they are not shifting.
