Commuting on the falco - bad idea?

no not yet

its with the mechanic but hes not sorted it yet

apparently he changed the plugs as the ones in there were totally carbed up

the new ones got blackened up straight away so he was thinking the airbox/filter might be at fault - apparently they are really hard to get to so there is a good chance its never been changed..

I know the front sprocket is also a pain to get to - had a new chain and sprocket fitted last year and the front one was practically worn smooth as it had obviously never been changed.

Pete, the mechanic has suggested dumping the airbox compeltely and fitting some K&N air filters directly which woudl be an easier fix and might even release a few extra ponies

Not heard anything back yet though, so presumably he's not managed to sort it all yet.

Since then I have started commuting on the Falco and tbh its great :)

I'm making sure I'm giving it a good wash every weekend which should hopefully minimise damage

They are a bit of a bugger to change, just working up to taking the carbs and filter off the daytona 750 to repair the sprag at the moment and also find out why its misfiring on the third cylinder
