Glad things are sounding positive - all the best for a speedy recovery .... even if it will take a while ....

Now I have heard the one about the constipated mathematician who worked it out with a pencil ...... but this takes things to the unimaginably frightening.
Surely Pete could find a preparation to help .....

Isn't that a bit extreme? Working it out with a pencil, ok, but a walking stick??
Anyway, best wishes to your mate, Howard

hope his recovery continues
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Send Dave our best wishes Howard.
Just keep telling him about your adventures on the Falco, and he'll soon be on the mend.

Been telling him that for six years, he was a bit slow to take it up, but eventually got there.
Just need to get the old git to take up a PC as well, then I don't have to be a Proxy site member for him.

P.S. I just thought I'd add a choice bit of Yorkie language to see if anybody understands it.
When I was with him and his wife last night, and he had gone to the toilet "with the walking stick" as discussed!
Chris said to me, "he'll be much better if he does get home tomorrow night, all this lot's knocked him reet off his duck! ".
Could you put it better?
I love classic words of explanation like that!

Howard hope your pal is on the mend and feeling better. I've been thinking about the "bars over the top yoke" thing. When I went to the Lakes a couple of weeks ago after a day's riding I got a really bad pain in my neck between my right shoulder.
my question is.... the cabling looks tight. Did you have to re-rout the throttle cables? I seem to remember Nooj had to bring his between the headstock and tank. Ive got braided brake hoses so I think there is plenty of free play there but the others look quite tight.
Pics would be good tolook at.
Cheers.

they will fit - just do a trial fit and see how it works

It is close but we just loosened all the cable tidies first and it all seems OK.
Obviously hydraulic pipes and the throttle cable are the main ones to check. Tweaker's old bike was still on the original brake line by the way.
Dave only went a five minute run down the road and all seemed OK without anything pulling at all.
Once Dave is up and around again I'll try and get some photos.
Otherwise it is as Pete said, just check it all carefully. I have not had chance to ride it yet, but Dave thinks it is much better for him and obviously Pete and others are very happy.

Thanks All. I don't really want to admit to aches and pains. I've not suffered before so maybe it was just my posture but i think I will have a go at moving the bars and see how it feels.

I had to re-route my cables and use Tuono hydraulic lines (which were slightly too long, but better then too short) as I have VarioBars over the yokes. Am currently re-working the arrangement, any tips on getting the top yoke off?

My top nut was a bugger to get off because of corrosion but much soaking in WD40 and a rattle gun later, it shifted. Found a thin C spanner makes life a lot simpler if you need to drop the bottom yoke (grease the races perhaps) but apart from that, pretty straight forward once the weight is off the forks.

[Debating whether to revive ancient thread or start new]
If putting bars over yoke (for comfort), would there be advantage to using other than native Falco? As we 'borrow' other items from RSV, I'm thinking these might have less inherent rise than Falco's? (compare
Falco Mille) - therby hitting a compromise solution, with slightly higher hand position but no clearance issues w. fairing/tank?
Or
maybe they're too rare so point is moot?
