I'm not a fan of satnavs but if I was, this is how I'd do it.

That reminds me.......must dust the mantlepiece before the next spin out.

Yup, this is what i did, but just added some velcro to the bottom jaw of the bulldog clip and the underside of the plastic tray to stop it sliding around and a small block of wood (sprayed black) between the plastic and the dash to stop the flex from the weight of the satnav :smt003

Sorry for poor quality pictures, it's just to give you an idea. It works (well tested). You need a good quality holder (stiff, not prone to vibrations - ideally not the bendy type as shown). Yes, I am a zip-tie fan.
