I must be lucky, have said it before but I've never had a problem with my Datatool S3.

One thing I've noticed, had the key in (so the alarm was disarmed), had accidentally knocked the killswitch while doing somethin, and the alarm started to arm. sounds like you may have something similar, maybe a broken wire somewhere on the same circuit as the killswitch?

Well that didn't work, bu then the PCB was not fully disconnected because of the fecking plugs and rubber goop. So I got medieval with my knife and managed to properly unplug everything. It's getting left overnight and I shall sleep with crossed fingers and toes!

Indeed I have to agree. I reckon it would be a nightmare trying to extricate it from the bike though.

Very happy with mine - never given any trouble.

Well that totally hasn't worked :smt009

There's also no direct support contact details on the Datatool website, wankers.

when you push the button on the remote, do the lights flash to show the alarm has disarmed?

Yeah the alarm 'appears' to be working normally in that sense - tilt/tamper sensor is working. Enables, disables. But... it's not recognising the ignition coming on, ie it auto alarms itself after 30 seconds despite the ignition being on.

I spoke to Datatool today and I have to get a voltmeter across a couple of pins to see if there is a problem between the ignition and the pin on the alarm.

*sigh*

Have you checked any of the bike fuses as opposed to the alarm ones? Could be something else has gone, giving both symptoms

I've checked the ones to the right hand side of the dash which are ok - are there any more to check?

well .... there are those on the left of the dash and there are a couple under the seat. I can't remember which ones are in which locations but I think the under seat are the main fuses - so don't think it will be them.

Another thought, does the alarm go off when set and you turn the key in the ignition? Again, that would tie up with what I've seen on the klllswitch being set, affecting the alarm
