Use a strap wrench to hold them still while you use an Allen key to undo them.

Oh yes, I did say I'd help you with the cans and chip - give me a shout when you want to do this.
Problem is as of tomorrow no gpz insurance - cant get around :( i have to take it up to uni on thursday......are there any aftermarket ones that will fit or does anyone have a spare set i can borrow until i get mine sorted?

On a side note, the front disks have started to rust while its been sat....what should i do about that? i know it will come off as i ride but i dont want to clog the pads up or glaze them over....

Samray - yes it is very red. I would have preffered black, but this one was at the right price! it still looks awesome though!

Olig - It is pretty standard, there are some cans to chuck on, then its just a case of tidying it up a little. It needs some bolts replacing, could do with a new rear seat unit, then i will look into airbox mods. Oh yeah, and move those stupid axo stickers.

Looks very nice as it is Dale!
Be even better when you get to ride it.
I have always liked the early red bikes, almost as good as the early black ones, but you will really enjoy it whatever colour. Take it steady at first, you'll find it a "bit quicker" than the GPZ and a bit less easy to handle at slow speeds, (slipping the clutch in slow turns helps), the GPZ is a nice bike and a very good first bike, but still quite friendly, (I've ridded a few myself). It will take you a while to get tuned in to the Falco and it just get better from there. :smt001 :smt001

For a real "Steath Ride" at that time, perhaps you should have gone for a black one!
You should have a pretty clear road at that time.

I'm sure you'll tell us all about it later.

Oh yes, I am!! :smt003
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

Pretty much ready tyo leave now, just waiting until 11.45 then will get kitted up and set off!. First stop is the petrol station to fill up on fuel and air. Front tyre only has 20.5 psi and the rear has.....wait for it......

18psi!

then i will be lincoln bound on my first ride on the falco, very excited but im also shitting myself!

one things is for sure, the GPZ was a hell of alot easier to carry luggage! damn plastic falco tank!

on the bike will be me, 2 rear panniers at 80 litres each( carrying about 20kg of luggage each), a tankbag and rucksack!

If i survive i will post before i go to bed!

Dale

Ahh, the exuberance (or daftness? :smt002 ) of youth! Speaks for a bit of passion, buying a bike you can't ride yet, then going out at midnight to get a ride on it as soon as you're allowed! I hope it lived up to expectations.

Might I suggest a permanent change of title from "Despatch Rider" to something more appropriate? :smt003

Hope it all went well Dale, we're all waiting for a first-ride report
