Yeh, but we've had so many Newbies buying us drinks in the Virtual Bar recently, I'm starting to get a virtual headache.

Hi and welcome

I think you've got a nice example - Bob certainly looked after his Falco

Keep an eye open on ebay for a saddle from an 03 onwards bike (not necessarily 03 plate - a lot of previous model year bikes were registered in later years). They are certainly more comfortable than the earlier seats and also cheaper than a Sargeant or Corbin (which might be more comfortable still)

Give it a little while to get used to it before changing and try supporting your weight more from your body than your arms - that works for a lot of us. If you don't adapt, then go for one of the other options.

Also, if you can make it, join us for the forum weekend on the first weekend of September - you'll get the chance to meet some of us and see what we've done to our Falcos.

I've had a trawl through the net to try to find some bar risers but £290 (the cheapest I could find) for a set of convertibars, and that before any mods to hoses and cables??? I think I'll suffer for a while. I have noticed after looking at some of the photo's in the gallery that the top yoke on mine seems low on the forks. There must be 2 to 3 inches of fork above the yoke. This dos not seem obvious on any examples I can see on the pics in the gallery. I am about to book it in for a service so will have put back to standard. Perhaps this will improve the riding position?????? I saw the bike prior to Bob removing some of the goodies and would have loved to have had it as it was but funds did not permit. Your right though the bike is a credit to Bob. I have added the rear R&G bungs and some red wheel stripes (surprising improvement) and ordered the bar ends. Lets call it a work in progress. The seat sounds interesting though. Is there anybody out there with one for sale? :smt100 I've thought about an airhawk but very pricy for a woopie cushion. Any experiences?

I think you will find that the forks are in there standard position, never changed them since i bought it, only set the statitic sag on the preload adjusters which should be just right :smt006 i think if you drop the fork anymore through the yolk ie: reduce the amount sticking above the yolks you will upset the handling

Hey Blenks - I see you're in Cov .... where abouts? (obviously not asking you to post up your address and bike's security arrangements on a public forum - but general area would be interesting).

If you want anything looked at or you want to compare with another Falco (though mine isn't exactly a "standard" example), then give me a shout.

As Bob says his yoke settings were standard - which will be the top yoke on the 3rd line down the forks.

Pete's solution of putting the clipons above the yoke is the cheapest way to raise them - If I remember, you do have to drop the yokes down the forks a bit to do this - I'm sure a search will reveal how many lines are necessary.

I am in Longford. Are you local? As for the bars above the yoke, that sounds like a plan. Any chance of some close up pics??? I'm sure that mine are lower than 3 lines, I'll check when I get home. Any mods neccessary when putting the clip ons above the yoke? :smt017

Yep - I'm in Binley - so not that far by Falco!

Think one or two of the Coventry Bikers Forum live up Longford way.

Just checked the lines above top yoke and there are 4 visible. Perhaps altered by the original owner? I bought a Triumph Tiger some time ago that was just the same. The owner said he bought it like that and was told by the seller that it help the bike turn in faster. I had it returned to standard settings at first opportunity. I am about to book it in to Forza Italia at Silverstone for a service so may ask them to put the clip ons above the yoke.

We'll have to meet up for a cup of tea and compare bikes. Let me know if there are any ride outs planned. I am a member of the Peugeot bike club, as I'm an x employee. Don't use the bike as much as I would like but can't stand the thought of not having one. Every time I opened the shed door the empty space really got me down.

I had a Tuono a couple of years ago, Fantastic bike. Fell in love with Aprilias from then. It had to go though as the missus almost came off the back no end of times and said enough is enough. I'd love another.

IIRC the std setting is 3 lines showing. I know it doesn't seem like much, but I dropped when I went to 4 lines from 3 there was a noticeable improvement in the handling at the expense of comfort. So a change to 3 lines might solve your wrist ache, but be aware of the altered geometry and handling characteristics.

Admittedly I'd not used the bike for a good while before riding with the changes and I do believe there is a large element of match fitness to riding.

Easy to try.
