Cheers Fausto

I'm in east london so easy enough for me, good excuse to take the bike out. I'll look in to the pros and cons a bit more.

I do like the bars as they are for use apart from the daily commute though. So would adjustables be better for me albeit more pricey?

Here are some pics of the Givi frames, sfoley1.http://s127.photobucket.com/albums/p131/dusty955/ They're actually for a BMW R1150GS, cut and carved to suit the Falco. I got them off ebay, brand new and still in their packaging. I already have SW Motech frames on my Triumph and wanted to be able to use the hard cases on the Falco also. They're 44 litre Kappa K960 cases so they are pretty big, although the photo makes them look even wider than they are. I'll probably buy a pair of Givi E21 cases which are much slimmer, although obviously don't hold as much stuff. The installation is very rigid and provided you don't want to filter, you hardly know they're there.

FlyingKiwi - nice one, I've popped over to that forum and am now asking them incessant questions too. They look like they could be the answer.

Dusty - Excellent solution. So you just hacked away at the BMW givi rack and no need to mess around with the Falco? Those panniers look massive! Is it easy enough to take the rack off? I would only want side panniers every now and again, oh and do they prevent a pillion from sitting there in comfort?

I've added another pic to show the frame without the case attached. I didn't specifically choose the BMW frames; they just happened to be on ebay and were brand new so I figured I couldn't go wrong. In fact, there are probably better options because these have slightly different arrangements fo the left and right sides. I had to cut parts off, bend other parts, and weld on new brackets, but the only change to the bike was longer bolts through the grabrail. The flared bodywork on the Falco does throw the frames out a bit, but it's not that much wider than the same cases on my Triumph with SW Motech frames. I haven't taken a pillion with the cases fitted but my daughter has sat on the bike and says she has plenty of room. She has size 6 feet and has enough space to place the instep comfortably on the peg.

Sorry sfoley1. I forgot to answer your question regarding removal. Two bolts per side, plus the link bar if you want to separate them for storage, so they can be fitted or removed in a couple of minutes. The bolts go back on the bike so you don't need to worry about losing them.

brilliant, thanks Dusty. I'm going to have a word with my local bike shop and take your pics along and see what they can conjure up. If I tried it would be disasterous!

Picked the bike up on Saturday. Rode back to London from Aylesbury, bloody brilliant.

Commuted to work in Staines for the first time today. Piece of piss and the wrists weren't too bad. Effortless power and suprisingly comfortable. Feels like a really well built and poised bike. Although I did like the CBF1000 I'm glad the budget made me buy a Falco, the CBF feels like it was cheap compared to this bike.

Here's to a long and happy relationship methinks. Oh, and my lunch fits perfectly under the seat hump, so it's practical as well....

Off to France on the 25th with some AIM instructors. Have never done a proper rideout before so cannae wait.

Excellent! I'm green with envy over your France trip. I'm off for two weeks to Madeira with the family in the big silver bird. I had hoped to be driving through France with one of the bikes on a trailer for some fun days while everyone else lay by the pool.Doh! Have a great trip. :smt001
